WHY YOU NEED TO FOCUS ON BUILDING YOUR BUSINESS!!!

There's this Influencer on social media, he's so good at what he does.

His networks span across the elites. But at the beginning it wasn't so.

He came into Lagos in search of green pastures, but he came with nothing. No big certificate, no skill, no connection, no relatives, etc.

To make matters worse, he wasn't fluent in English, his "H factor" was really deep, you can't blame him, he schooled in a Yoruba school.

But he was determined to break the backbone of poverty in his family, and Lagos was the best place to achieve this dream.

Reaching Lagos, he contacted a friend who lived on the island, the guy asked him to come around, when he got there, he realised that this friend of his was squatting in an "uncompleted building".

He couldn't cry, he decided to join his friend to sleep in the uncompleted building. On reaching the building, the security men didn't allow him to sleep there.

They shouted at his friend, "you that we are squatting in this building, you went to bring someone else to sqaut with you"

He was so frustrated, he had to get back on the street of Ikoyi that night looking for anywhere to lay his head even if it's a tree.

Fortunately for him, he met someone who spoke the same language with him, he explained his ordeal to the man, and the man accomodated him for the night.

After that day, the reality of  "This Is Lagos" dawned on him. He had to look for a way to secure an accomodation, luckily he got this uncompleted building where he could rest his head every night.

3 weeks later he got a cleaning job at Ikoyi, the job also came with an accomodation.

Amid his struggles, he had a passion for luxury cars. Working and staying on the Island exposed him to lots of 'em.

He quickly saved money and bought a phone so he could video exotic cars and post online.

When he started posting he had no followers, no views, and his video quality was very poor.

He got the memo, then went on to do this "buy now and pay later" stuff. He got a good phone that had great video quality.

When he spots any exotic car, he would make a video of them and post them online. In his videos he always shouts "It's Plennntttyyyy, Opor"

He got traction, his first break came when one top car dealer saw his video and reposted it.

But, he faced lots of dragging, insults, name it, he faced all, why? He couldn't speak fluent english.

According to him, they were days he was so depressed, he couldn't do anything. At one point he contemplated jumping over the lekki bridge.

But something told him to focus on building his business online, he started creating videos again, then one day Tunde Ednut reposted his video.

Today this guy who couldn't speak english now has 1.8m followers on IG. He rolls with the likes of OBO and Machalla. He's now a big boy, doing reviews for elite car companies, doing adverts for luxury hotels, etc.

Folake, this week and beyond determine to focus on building your business no matter what comes your way.
