HOW OBY GREW HER ICE-CREAM BUSINESS FROM HER HOME

Are you currently running your business from home or combining with 8-5 job, and you wish to grow the business, please follow and adopt this Oby's strategy. I have also made my notes on how to go about it.

1. DECISION ON PRICING: She created a recipe of all her different flavours of ice-cream. She listed everything involved including materials, plates, labels, etc. After her costing, she arrived at a cost of N600 per plate.

She then priced her ice-cream at N1200 per plate.

2. DECISION AND DISCIPLINE WITH SAVINGS: She decided to save N200 per plate while putting back the remaining N400 into the business.

To enforce this, she opened a separate bank account and every week or three days, she calculatesthe number of bottles sold and transfers the total of N200 per bottle into the bank account.

3. LEADS GENERATION AND FOLLOW-UP: She does her business both online and offline.

She supplies some big stores her products. Everyday, she tries to visit at least 1 store around her vicinity. She follows them up until they signed up. She recorded higher success rate.

On the online space, she used both content and ads to generate leads. She educates her followers about her products and the benefits.

She also got more signups from her social media space.

4. EXPANSION: Due to the quality of her products, and her good marketing strategies, she got so many people to supply to.

From her savings, she was able to get more machines, more materials, and hired more staff. She also expanded her production room right in her own house.

5. INCOME AND EXPENDITURE TRACKING: She ensures all her records are well kept. She started with a book to track her sales and expenses.

But when the business grew, she got the ERP Business Management Software to track her sales, cash, inventory, expenses, customers, suppliers, etc.

6. Using this simple strategy, Oby has grown her business from just 40 Plates a day to more than 250 plates in less than 2 years.

Growing a business requires determination and discipline while working and praying against misfortune.
